Even with safe and effective vaccines, typhoid keeps infecting millions each year, especially in parts of Asia and Africa. A recent Seminar ( https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40914181/)  in The Lancet warns that these diseases (typhoid and paratyphoid fevers), caused by bacteria spread through contaminated food and water, continue to pose a significant public health threat.
