Strengthening Vaccine Communication Capacity: OUCRU and NIHE Deliver Training of Trainers Programme for National Vaccine Trainers 

On 5–6 May 2026, the Oxford University Clinical Research Unit (OUCRU) successfully delivered a two-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Vaccine Communication Skills at the National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology (NIHE) in Hanoi. The training aimed to strengthen the capacity of national trainers responsible for supporting vaccine communication and consultation skills among healthcare workers across Vietnam.

Nhiễm khuẩn bệnh viện và tình trạng vi khuẩn kháng thuốc đang đặt ra những thách thức lớn đối với hệ thống y tế Việt Nam. Mặc dù Bộ Y tế đã ban hành nhiều chiến lược và hướng dẫn quốc gia về quản lý sử dụng kháng sinh (QLSDKS), kiểm soát nhiễm khuẩn (KSNK) và giám sát vi khuẩn kháng thuốc đến năm 2030, việc triển khai thực tế tại các bệnh viện tuyến tỉnh và tuyến huyện vẫn gặp những thách thức nhất định trong bối cảnh nguồn lực và hạ tầng chưa đồng đều. Trên thực tế, bệnh viện đã có nhiều hệ thống dữ liệu khác nhau nhưng chủ yếu phục vụ cho từng mục tiêu chuyên môn, do đó việc kết nối và khai thác liên thông vẫn chưa thực sự đồng nhất và hoàn thiện.

iSHARP – Integrated Stewardship in Hospitals for Antimicrobial Resistance Control Platform

Hospital-acquired infections and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) remain major challenges for the healthcare system in Viet Nam. Although the Ministry of Health has issued multiple national strategies and guidelines on antimicrobial stewardship (AMS), infection prevention and control (IPC), and AMR surveillance up to 2030, implementation at provincial and district hospitals still faces certain challenges, particularly in the context of uneven resources and infrastructure. In practice, hospitals already operate multiple data systems that mainly serve specific professional purposes; as a result, data connectivity and integrated use across systems have not yet been fully harmonized or optimized.

OUCRU cùng Khoa Y học Nuffield, Đại học Oxford bày tỏ niềm thương tiếc sâu sắc trước sự ra đi của Giáo sư, Hiệp sĩ Nicholas White, nhà khoa học xuất sắc, người có đóng góp lớn trong việc cải thiện điều trị sốt rét toàn cầu.
Các nghiên cứu của Giáo sư Nicholas White đã để lại dấu ấn sâu đậm trong nền y học thế giới, góp phần cứu sống hàng triệu người.
